August Chairman’s Report

See below and attached for our LCA Chairman’s Report from 29th August 2024:

A focus on the Rodney Local Board representation review has been interesting
with a favourable outcome yesterday.

A vote by the RLB, 6 in favour of the proposal we along with NAG and RCV have
be involved in promoting, 3 against.

This will give North Rodney Rural 2 members also South Rodney likewise, with
the more urban subdivisions being recognised as such with 2 members for
Warkworth, 2 for Kumeu/Huapai and 1 for Dairy Flat, still totalling 9 however
in a more proportionate manner.

I along with Tim, Colin and Rick attended the RAP meeting earlier in the month,
discussions around AT roading network, overland flow paths and the Boundary
change review took place.

The LCA Groundwater investigation sub Committee have sought the support
of 2 local MP’s Chris Penk along with Grant McCallum whom we will be relating
our concerns to.

Gordon and Siva are working hard on identifying the sewerage system
requirements of other Councils in NZ in order to seek changes with Bureacratic
Bullying evident. Gordon has formulated a very comprehensive letter which he
will circulate to Committee.

There has been an active campaign by our treasurer Paul to seek membership
subs from both new and existing members, this has involved meetings with
Paul and Rick to whom we can be most grateful.

Tonight we elect our officers so I wish to thank the incumbents and support
any incomers should they be elected.

Regards,
Brian Mason
