November Chairman’s Report

See below for Chairman Brian Mason’s report from our LCA meeting on 30th November 2023:

This month has seen several events along with resulting follow up
AC Healthy Waters team hosted an informal meeting at Tomarata School
regarding the Groundwater takes, this was attended by about 20 locals along
with retired professionals.

An informative discussion was challenged with direct and frank responses.
The result being some bore holders volunteered to be metered but more
importantly a take home message was sent back to the AC regulatory team.

Rick and I attended from LCA.

Bill Foster representing NAG has worked tirelessly on promoting the Rural
Subdivision Boundary change with an attempt to get RLB members on side
which will increase chances when it’s presented to the AC Governing Body, a
meeting was held last week, which Rick attended on LCA behalf and obviously
Tim and Colin.

The RAP meeting was held which seemed more topical to us this time with
issues such as Farm Enviro Reports and Roading covered in more detail
however not to our satisfaction hence we will push to have our own local
meetings.

I’ve requested that the Tomarata/TeArai aquafir be included on the next
agenda.

The Mayor handed invites via Colin for Tim and I to attend the Warkworth
Founder’s Celebration which was an excellent event. Dean and Marjorie were
also guests as of right with strong family connection.

My phone has been fielding many calls from upset Dairy farmers over the AC
reporting issue, some members but several not, hence the need for some
answers up front from AC.

Owing to lack of a suitable truck we cancelled our involvement in the Wellsford
and Warkworth Santa Parades this year.”

Regards,
Brian
